Bible Verse Search Help

The search functions as follows:

1.  Search for all verses in a Book

To find all the verses for a book, just enter the name of the book.
For example, to find all of the verses for the book of John, enter the following:
john


2.  Search for all verses in a chapter of a Book

To find all the verses for a book with a particular chapter, just enter the name of the book with the chapter number.
For example, to find all of the verses for the book of Exodus chapter 5, enter the following:
exodus5


3.  Search for one specific verse by it's reference

To find a particular verse, enter the name of the book, the chapter, a colon, and then the verse number.
For example, to find Psalm chapter 119 verse 105, enter the following:
psalm119:105


4.  Search for a range of verses

To find a range of verses within the same chapter, enter the name of the book, the chapter, a colon, the starting verse number, a dash, a colon, and then the ending verse number.
For example, to find verses 5-20 from Isaiah 53, enter the following:
isaiah57:5-:20

To find a range of verses across a two or more chapters, enter the name of the book, the starting chapter, a colon, the starting verse number, a dash, the ending chapter, and then the ending verse number.
For example, to find Acts 2:13 through Acts 7:8, enter the following:
acts2:13-7:8

To find a range of verses across multiple books, enter the name of the starting book, the starting chapter, a colon, the starting verse number, a dash, the ending book, the ending chapter, and then the ending verse number.
For example, to find Hebrews 5:9 through I John 2:15, enter the following:
hebrews5:9-ijohn2:15


5.  Search for a range of chapters

To find a range of chapters containing all verses within and between chapters of a book, enter the name of the book, the starting chapter, a dash, and then the ending chapter.
For example, to find Joshua chapter 2 through chapter 10, enter the following:
joshua2-10

To find a range of chapters across multiple books, enter the name of the starting book, the starting chapter, a dash, the ending book, and then the ending chapter.
For example, to find Daniel 11 through Malachi 1, enter the following:
daniel11-malachi1


6.  Search for a range of books

To find a range of books containing all verses and chapters within and between books, enter the name of the book, a dash, and then the ending book.
For example, to find all of the New Testament (Matthew through Revelation), enter the following:
matthew-revelation


7.  Search for groups of verses/chapters/books

To find a group of verses, enter the multiple values separated by commas.
For example, to find John chapter 1 (with all it's verses) and add Matthew Chapter 1 after that, enter the following:
john1,matthew1

To find Luke 2:4, Acts 4, and then Genesis 3:3 through Genesis 5, enter the following:
luke2:4,acts4,genesis3:3-5


NOTE

a.  All names of books can be shortened.

John 1:1 can be searched as joh1:1
Revelation 15 can be searched as re15
III John can be searched as iii


b.  All books that start with Roman Numerals can start with a number.

I Peter can be searched as 1peter
III John 2 can be searched as 3john2


c.  Names of books are case INSENSITIVE.

Matthew can be searched as MaTtHeW
Romans 1:5 can be searched as roMANs1:5


d.  The more verses that are search for, the longer the search will take.

e.  This search ONLY searches for verses by REFERENCE, not by words or phrases in a verse.
